Austin Freeman

Biography

Austin Freeman oversees the firm’s portfolio and corporate investment initiatives. He serves as an influential member and chair of the firm’s Investment Committee.

Over his 28-year career, Austin has established himself as a well-rounded commercial real estate professional. Austin is responsible for executive oversights that cover Monday’s office and residential properties. He leads the firm’s efforts focused on long-term corporate initiatives, investment and portfolio management and the execution of new and existing debt strategies. Austin also oversees the management and execution of the company’s DMV office leasing platform.

From a corporate perspective, Austin advances and implements initiatives focused on overall profitability and revenue generating growth strategies. Austin has recently been elevated to co-lead Monday’s capital raising strategy and future programmatic platforms. Austin facilitates joint venture partnership structures, investment thesis development and research, and fosters the firm’s global partner relationships.

Prior to joining Monday Properties in 2009, Austin spent 10 years with Tishman Speyer where he worked in various markets, including New York City, Boston, Virginia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. During his time at Tishman, Austin held leadership roles covering capital markets, global fund management and joint venture execution, asset management, financing, and office dispositions. Earlier in his career, Austin also worked at global advisory firm Arthur Anderson’s real estate consulting practice, providing institutional clientele with strategic underwriting, financial analysis, and due diligence support for large scale CMBS and large loan transactions in the hotel, multifamily and office sectors.

Austin is a graduate and received a B.S. degree from Ithaca College as well as M.S. degree in Real Estate from New York University’s Real Estate Institute.
