This 743,000 square foot, 25-story office building features floor plates of 21,500 to 34,000 square feet. Located just south of Times Square, 1440 Broadway is conveniently located to numerous modes of transportation, offering subway access directly adjacent to the building’s entrance. The end-core brick and masonry structure was built in 1925, and in 2001 underwent renovations in excess of $14 million under architects Moed de Armas & Shannon.

1440 Broadway is a LEED-EB Gold Certified building under the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) program. LEED-EB Certification ranks 1440 Broadway at the top of its class – ensuring the highest level of ongoing operations addressing sustainability and energy efficiency. The LEED program requires excellence in site maintenance, water efficiency, energy conservation, material selection, and indoor environmental quality. Monday Properties has implemented a multitude of programs to maximize the health of the indoor environment, as well as ensure that the building is running efficiently to minimize its carbon footprint and environmental impact.
Building improvements include hi-tech video boards in the lobby walkway, state-of-the-art security systems with automatic digital card scanner turnstiles, and new steel and fitted glass elevator cabs. The Broadway entry features a three bay flush-glass storefront and limestone piers with aluminum canopies.
In the main building lobby, the ceiling has been raised to 18 feet. The walls and flooring are Tassos white marble and the elevator core is a deep red Rosso Collemadia marble. The final touch on the lobby renovations is a 15 foot, Mariko Mori work of art.
The 1440 Broadway refrigeration plant consists of a 480-ton Trane electric centrifugal chiller, a 500-ton York direct fired absorption chiller, and three 500-ton Evapco cooling towers. The building is also serviced by tenant-controlled, air cooled package units.
1440 Broadway tenants include Macy's, Caché, Condé Nast, Mizuho Capital Markets Corporation, InnerWorkings, Razorfish, Gannett and Liz Claiborne.
